 NTC DWP Approved Six Development Projects worth Rs. 129 Million

NTC DWP Approved Six Development Projects worth Rs. 129 Millions in 51st Meeting held on 16th November, 2016.


NTC Development Working Party (DWP) held its 51st meeting under chairmanship of MD NTC on 16th November 2016. DWP approved 06 x development projects worth Rs. 129 Million. Representatives from Ministry of IT, Ministry of Planning, Dev & Reforms and Finance Division participated in the meeting.

The approved projects include expansion of NTC telecom infrastructure to un-served districts of Haripur and Pakpattan. Two projects covering Okara Cantt and Army Garrison Sarghoda were also approved by DWP to enhance NTC network in Pakistan Army Cantonments.

MD NTC Viqar Rashid Khan informed the forum that Government of Pakistan has mandated NTC to provide Telecom / ICT services to all Government departments/Organizations throughout the country. He further elaborated that in case NTC network is not available, then NTC will arrange such services under Public Private Partnership or any other means as per Telecom Policy 2015. Accordingly, NTC has signed various agreements with other Telcos in the country. As a result of Technical developments, NTC has increased its footprint from 54 Districts/Cities to 84 Districts /Cities, which is record growth in a Public sector.

DWP forum appreciated the efforts made by NTC Management to enhance its network and keeping abreast with technological advancements in the telecom sector.
